About Me

Who am I?

I am just a computer science graduate living in South Louisiana who happens to be an anime fan.

What do I do?

Well, computer tech, at the moment. System Analyst, if you need a position name. Soon I will be working with a consultant company, starting off as a PHP Programmer.

As you may be able to tell, I am not a natural web designer...

What are my hobbies?

Seems to largely be watching and writing about anime I watch and books I read at the moment. I also ice skate and play ice hockey. I occasionally play the guitar, and I used to compose music.

Why did you create this weblog?

No real reason, really. It just started out as a Joomla -based test website. After a bit, I found myself posting about the anime and books I've been reading, so I turned it to another anime weblog. At some point, I switched over to Drupal, and I continue to use this site to test out different things, such as Google AdSense, Google Analytics, and the various Drupal modules. I may do experiments with CSS-based designs.

How did you create this weblog?

This weblog is running on the Drupal content management system. The look is built from the Meta Theme for Drupal. [Update March 9, 2008: Actually, not anymore. Since upgrading to Drupal 5, I've redesigned the site by customizing the Zen fixed-width theme.]

What is this "anime" stuff?

In the strictest definition, "anime" is Japanese for "animation". Outside of Japan, anime refers to animation from Japan which is usually made for a Japanese audience. Yes, it is Japanese cartoons, as most anime made for Japanese TV is actually made for a younger audience. You do have some that are made for an older audience, and those tend to be the anime I seek out. Well, the non-hentai ones, at least. "Hentai" is Japanese for "pervert". It also refers to pornographic anime. I'm personally not too interested in being aroused by cartoons, thank-you-very-much!

If anything, Wikipedia can do a more thorough job of explaining anime.
