While folding clothes, I decided to just have something play in the background, so I stuck in the first DVD of The Twelve Kingdoms (A series I hold dear and have watched many, many times). I finished before the first episode was finished, so I tucked into bed and watched the rest of it. As the ending credits came on, I hit on a rare moment of inspiration, got up, grabbed my dusty acoustic guitar, and started playing. Well, started guessing at least. The chord progression to the ending theme, GETSUMEI FUUEI (Song of the Moonlight) sounded too familiar to me.

Usually, I quit after a few minutes of frustration, but I was going to get my fingers' blisters worth this time, at least.

After repeating the ending theme of the episode a couple of times, I switched over to the slow version on the official soundtrack (which I did actually import!) and went at attempting to guess from that version. Another moment of inspiration hit, and I tuned my guitar 1/2 step down. Ahh... much better! Slowly, I pick-up the chords. So here they are, as best as I can figure out:

No, they still don't sound familiar to me, but at least I've hopefully figured out the chords for this beautiful song! Even with my rusting guitar playing and music theory skills!
