The acquisition and storage systems

The two towers. Actually, there's more than two in this picture, but only two of them are being used.

The large black case with the silver front paneling to the left is Guts, an AMD Phenom 2.5 GHz Quad-core with 3 GB of RAM and a Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS running Windows XP Home. This is what I use to web surf/video game/acquisition anime that isn't available in the U.S., yet. It also runs TVersity, which can transcode this downloaded anime and stream it to the XBox360 in the living room.

The purple box to the right of Guts (actually, almost hidden behind in the picture) is Rakushun. This is where the anime that I acquire online is stored. It is a 2.26GHz Celeron with two 300GB drives in a RAID 1 running CentOS 5. This system will eventually get replaced by a more powerful system next year to take advantage of the fiber connection I should be getting then. This box will then be moved to internet router duties, which is currently handled by an old 750 Mhz Pentium III system running pfSense.

Also, in the picture, you should see the blue Linksys WRT54GL next to the smaller monitor on the desk to the right. This is running the Tomato firmware, but setup mainly as an wireless access point and a wireless bridge to another WRT54GL in the living room also running Tomato.
