Anime Night

Well, the pic was of a test run of playing the Byousoku 5 cm episode on my roommate's 42" TV. My DVD player hooked up to it (OPPO OPDV97IH) can play XviD and DivX files, so it was a matter of converting the original WMV file to uncompressed AVI, inserting hard subs into the video, and encoding it with XviD. Looks to have gone well, and doesn't look too bad for the source being an online stream video.

Sadly, that work to get it working went unused, as I held a anime marathon party at my house and decided that it wouldn't be good to force that on the three guests that came. What we ended up watching were:

Cat Soup
Noiseman Sound Insect
A couple shorts from Digital Juice
A couple shorts from Sweat Punch
Millennium Actress
First three episodes of Paranoid Agent
Animatrix

So it was a night of pretty strange and unusual anime. Mainly of the work of Studio 4°C and Satoshi Kon.

It was a fun evening.
