Well, the pic was of a test run of playing the Byousoku 5 cm episode on my roommate's 42" TV. My DVD player hooked up to it (OPPO OPDV97IH) can play XviD and DivX files, so it was a matter of converting the original WMV file to uncompressed AVI, inserting hard subs into the video, and encoding it with XviD.

A Mishmash of Anime

I've been watching a few different animes over the past few days. For one, I've been rewatching Vision of Escaflowne (currently finished episode 17) while I was working at home. On Mushishi, I'm up to episode 20 and loving it. I've enjoyed Ghost Hunt so far up to episode 11. And I've watched and mostly enjoyed the Animatrix, despite not being a fan of the Matrix universe itself.

Animatrix - Beyond - Yoko looking down

A shot of Yoko from "Beyond" in the Animatrix. You should see the unusual coloring of her hair (pink outside, blue-green in the shadow), which was a style that was later used in Mahou Shoujo Tai Arisu.
