Ghost Hunt
Another Anime from The Twelve Kingdoms Fuyumi Ono
Posted December 18th, 2009 by NickFuyumi Ono is best known to me as the original writer for The Twelve Kingdoms, the series that really got me seriously watching anime and laid the foundation for me to discover Haibane Renmei and Berserk1
I had discovered the anime adaptation of Ono's Ghost Hunt and enjoyed the heck out of it. It doesn't have the epic scope that The Twelve Kingdoms had2, but Ghost Hunt did feature some great characters and some really memorable scare moments3. In the end, I liked the hell out of it, even if it didn't get "top ten" rating.
Well, just got news today that another manga that Fuyumi Ono written the original novel for has been green lit to be adapted into an anime:
- 1. Yes, two very divergent anime; one day, I'll have to write how they link together with The Twelve Kingdoms thematically.
- 2. And not many anime did and handled that level of scope nearly as well
- 3. Especially the one that featured the doll. I still get the creeps watching that scene!
Nick's Anime Update - May 11, 2007
Posted May 11th, 2007 by NickHasn't been too long since I've done one of these, but I probably should force myself to do this at least once a week. I'll try for every Friday evening, if possible.
Well, here's the list! (Oh, possible spoilers ahead!)

Posted April 28th, 2007 by NickCall it laziness or burn-out, but I just haven't had the energy or will to sit down and write about the recent anime I've been watching. Indeed, I've been meaning to write an analysis of the Twelve Kingdoms novel and Fuyumi Ono's interview and a review of Asatte no Houkou (Quite a nice little series that doesn't overextend itself) and Mushishi. As it is, I do have a list of some of the new anime I'm watching:

Posted February 14th, 2007 by NickI've been watching a few different animes over the past few days. For one, I've been rewatching Vision of Escaflowne (currently finished episode 17) while I was working at home. On Mushishi, I'm up to episode 20 and loving it. I've enjoyed Ghost Hunt so far up to episode 11. And I've watched and mostly enjoyed the Animatrix, despite not being a fan of the Matrix universe itself.

Posted December 16th, 2006 by NickNew Find!
Posted December 10th, 2006 by NickI was browsing around at AnimeSuki.com when I found one of the offered animes had the title Ghost Hunt. For some reason, that title sounded awfully familiar, so looking up Ghost Hunt on the Anime News Network confirmed that feeling; it is based on the novels with the same name written by Fuyumi Ono. The author who wrote the epic The Twelve Kingdoms! So of course, I immediately started downloading and planned on watching this!
