Doing My Part for the Economy

Got quite a few new acquisitions in the past week. First of all, what my girlfriend got me for my birthday1:

I've always felt that Who Framed Roger Rabbit was one of the most amazing films to come out of an American studio. The book was one I've been looking forward to read for some time now.

Then I had the following come in from Robert's Anime Corner Store:

LEGO Version of Monster Opening

So, it seems that someone took the opening to Monster and made a version using LEGOs:

One of the best long-running1 series that I ever got into. Too bad it never got licensed into the U.S.2, I'd have been very interested in a German dub of it, truthfully...

Oh, My Bank Account Groans In Agony!

I've been doing my part in supporting the anime industry. I had bought volumes 6 to 10 of the Monster manga when I spotted them at the local Books-A-Million and couldn't resist buying them all. I ordered volume 5 from Robert's Anime Corner Store and ordered a few manga to help my girlfriend fill in holes in her collection and Spriggan and the art box and the first three volumes of Mushishi.

Nick's Anime Update - June 10, 2007

I had turned 28 on Friday and received volumes 1 and 4 of the Monster manga as gifts.[img_assist|nid=2095|title=|desc=|link=node|align=right|width=200|height=150] I went ahead and bought volumes 2 and 3 of Monster to fill in the missing volumes and volumes 2-4 of Berserk to continue it (getting both series and a Haibane Renmei t-shirt from Robert's Anime Corner Store).

A Space Opera, A Suspense-Thriller, And Ski-Ramp Noses

[img_assist|nid=1880|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=143|height=200]A couple of days ago, I decided to subject myself to the English dub of Crest of the Stars, gave up and started rewatching Monster. The night afterwards, I put in the first DVD of Vision of Escaflowne and watched the first couple of episodes in Japanese with English dubs. A few things came to mind at the time concerning each of these shows.
