Oh, My Bank Account Groans In Agony!

I've been doing my part in supporting the anime industry. I had bought volumes 6 to 10 of the Monster manga when I spotted them at the local Books-A-Million and couldn't resist buying them all. I ordered volume 5 from Robert's Anime Corner Store and ordered a few manga to help my girlfriend fill in holes in her collection and Spriggan and the art box and the first three volumes of Mushishi.

Re: Shingu Ends

To help Author answer his question to himself, no, I don't think you've deceived me in anyways. I was looking at the feel and presentation of the Shingu OP more than elements or characters.

Hell, it actually shows more about the show than, say, the Mushishi OP:

Explanation of the Word "Mushi"

[img_assist|nid=1906|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=200|height=112]Iwa ni Hana has an excellent explanation of the word mushi.

This really helps with understanding the already excellent series Mushishi, as the words "bug" or "insect" really don't capture the real meaning.

A Mishmash of Anime

I've been watching a few different animes over the past few days. For one, I've been rewatching Vision of Escaflowne (currently finished episode 17) while I was working at home. On Mushishi, I'm up to episode 20 and loving it. I've enjoyed Ghost Hunt so far up to episode 11. And I've watched and mostly enjoyed the Animatrix, despite not being a fan of the Matrix universe itself.

The Sore Feet Song tab (Mushishi opening song)

[img_assist|nid=1839|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=200|height=112]For those looking for it, the guitar tab is available on this topic in the forums on Ally Kerr's official website in PDF format. Though this is for a single guitar; what you hear during the intro of Mushishi is actually two guitars.

Waving Goodbye to 2006 and Embracing 2007

Well, it's just about time for the new year, and I'm sitting here browsing the web and not entirely enjoying Divergence Eve (watched up to episode 3. I'll probably get to episode 4 before retiring for the night). Ah well, not everybody can like everything (At least it's no Eiken, or worse... Dokoru-chan...). Ah well, I guess it is enjoyable enough, what with all the fan-service, the minimally interesting plot, and mostly tolerable characters.

Ah well. Have a Happy New Year, everybody!

Mushishi - Episodes 1 to 9

[img_assist|nid=1845|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=200|height=112]I don't have much time, but I've watched up to episode 9 of Mushishi, and it looks like I'll be regarding this series as one of the to-be classics of anime if these first 9 episodes have anything to do about it. Watching Ginko helping people with problems with the Mushi has been one of the most enjoyable things I've seen this year in anime.

Mushishi Image Gallery

[img_assist|nid=1819|title=Ginko, the Mushi-shi.|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=200|height=112]I've watched the first episode of Mushishi twice already, and I still want to rewatch it again!  It seems to be a strange combination of the "traveler" element of Kino's Journey and the nature spirituality of Princess Mononoke, but that still doesn't give what I just watched justice.
